To kick off the year, the Orbit office in Christchurch joined Scenic Hotel Group at The Long Run – a community fundraising event supporting the Child Cancer Foundation. Held annually at Malvern Park in Christchurch, the event brings together organisations, families, and supporters to walk or run laps, with every kilometre contributing to the fundraising total.
Scenic Hotel Group, a long-time supporter of the Child Cancer Foundation, invited customers and partners to join them on the track, with Scenic donating for every lap completed. Our Christchurch-based Orbit team was proud to take part and complete a few laps – and we’re already planning to make a full day of it next year.
Although the weather brought this year’s event to a slightly early close, The Long Run still saw an impressive effort, with more than $261,000 raised so far toward supporting children and families impacted by cancer.
Community involvement and strong supplier partnerships are core values at Orbit. It was great for our Christchurch office to stand alongside one of our preferred partners and contribute to such an uplifting cause.
A big thank you to Scenic Hotel Group for having us along and for their continued commitment to supporting the Child Cancer Foundation. We look forward to being part of this meaningful event again next year – hopefully with even more laps under our belt.
